Highlights of the Questionnaire
Along with the 2020 Federal Census Clarksburg’s senior population received a questionnaire asking what activities and programs should be offered at the Senior Center. Eighty residents responded and a tally of their answers shows what is of most interest to our growing senior population. The categories are shown in descending area of interest, along with the number of people who designated the activity:

53    Fitness (walking, aerobics, balance, Tai Chi, etc.)
43    Organized group trips (day, weekend, or week long)
35    Art (painting, crafts, etc.)
28    Entertainment (musical programs, movie showings, etc.)
28    Coffee / Social time
27    Nutrition (cooking for one or two, gourmet cooking, making specialties, etc.)
24    Games (ping pong, corn hole, ladder ball, horseshoes, etc.)
24    Life Long Learning (finance, computer, history, photography, foreign language, etc.)
24    Volunteer to help at the center
21    Book Group (read a book on your own and gather to discuss)
16    Congregate Meals (hot lunch provided once a week by Elder Services and served by volunteers)
13    Workshops (write your memoir, learn a new dance, drama/performance, etc.)
5      Workshops for caregivers
5      Memory Café; a fun, caring social time geared toward those with memory issues
4      Bereavement group

Best time to meet
The best time to meet for most respondents is in the afternoon, with 40 people choosing that time. Mornings were the second most popular at 34, and evenings were favored by 29 people.
